I've never liked the expression "you're so lucky", or, any other version of the same sentiment.

I'm not saying that I don't believe in luck. I know that "luck", is a series of random events, all happening at the same time, to produce a positive result for one or more individuals. Winning a major lottery is purely based on the premise of luck. So, I suppose, if I won the lottery and someone said that I was lucky, I would agree. Typically however, that is not why anyone says that you are lucky.

Most people are called lucky because they made a series of good decisions, worked hard to achieve a goal, or, they are being complimented on a desirable lifestyle that is plainly visible.

What do all the aforementioned things have in common? They are exactly the same thing, or, at least related to one another. Making good choices, alongside a good work ethic, that is directed to achieving goals, often goes hand in hand with having an enviable lifestyle.
